Nová tržnica

Nová Tržnica je od svojho vzniku miestom pravidelných nákupov Bratislavčanov. Dnes je mnohotvárnym priestorom, v ktorom zvyknú prebiehať rôzne kultúrne podujatia. Tržnica čiastočne nahradila Centrálne trhovisko, premiestnené kvôli projektu Istroplisu (Dom ROH). Je postavená v duchu high-tech. Aj to je prejavom bdelosti vtedajšej slovenskej architektúry. Tržnica je monumentálnou stavbou, ktorá je súčasťou mestskej identity. Mohlo by sa zdať, že objekt je svojou veľkosťou predimenzovaný, jej potenciál žiaľ nie je naplno využívaný. Nad schodiskom sa dnes nachádzajú voľné miesta, ktoré vraj mali slúžiť veľkým radom pred obchodmi.

From its beginings, the New Market is place of regular purchases of Bratislava's citizens. The building is today multiform space with large range of cultural events. Marketplace partially replaced the Central market, displaced due to the project Istroplis (Dom ROH). The fact that It is built in the spirit of high-tech is also an expression of vigilance of the then Slovak architecture. Marketplace is a monumental building, which is part of the urban identity of Bratislava. It would seem that the object is oversized, unfortunately its potential is not fully exploited. Above the staircase are vacancies which probably should serve to long queue in front of shops.
