Mestská časť Patrónka získala svoje meno podľa továrne na výrobu nábojov, tzv. patrónov, ktorá s nachádzala v nedalekom okolí. Štvrť sa pôvodne nazývala Westent - Západ. Projekt zastávky MHD Patrónka je ďaľšou položkou na zozname nedocenených kvalitných diel z éry socializmu. Tam, kde je dnes len nepríjemný koridor slúžiaci ako podchod, sa malo rozprestierať prvé nákupno-spoločenské centrum v Bratislave. Veľkolepé myšlienky neboli dokončené z viacerých dôvodov. Dnes je priestor zastávky Patrónka len fragmentom pôvodnej idey.

The city district Patrónka got its name from factory for ammunition cartriges called "patrons", which was situated near the bus station. The quarter was originally called Westent - West. The project of bus stop Patrónka is the next item on the list of underrated projects from the era of socialism. Nowadays, there is only annoying corridor serving as the underpass. The place was originally designed for the first shopping and cultural center in Bratislava. Grandiose idea have not been implemented for several reasons. Today, the complex of Patrónka is only a fragment of the original idea.
